Preorders for the PCNC 440 have been booming, and now, we’re closer to having more accessories for Tormach’s newest machine tool. Here are some photos of a pre-production PCNC 440 automatic tool changer (ATC). We’re excited to see the development of this accessory as we progress toward making it available to 440 owners.

Dave Chalker of North Massapequa, New York has over 30 years of machining experience and has spent half that time working for a machine tool builder as an Applications Engineer. Dave formed Dark Energy Creations a year and a half ago to focus on general and specialized machine work, 3D solid modeling, CAD/CAM, and 3D printing. But Dave says the main focus at Dark Energy Creations is custom machining. “I do machining on all other kinds of stuff, ranging from motorcycle brackets to prototypes for medical devices,” he said. “One of my ‘cooler’ projects was to make a hobby model kit, but instead of molded plastic it was all metal. The customer would have to fit, finish and assemble the different components.”

Boss and Sons, LLC is a small machine shop in Deforest, WI, focusing on prototyping and custom machined parts.  Owner Ariel Bolanos was nice enough to let us visit for a day and see what he's up to with his PCNC 1100 mill.

For Ariel Bolanos, 2013 marks the second year as owner and operator of Boss & Sons, LLC a small family-owned machine shop located in DeForest, Wisconsin. Now in his early 30’s, Ariel’s machining background started at the age of twelve under the instruction of his father Jorge.

Meet Matthew Crenshaw. With an engineering background ranging from embedded software to electronics prototyping, machining and mold making, Crenshaw is Vice President of Engineering at Desert Star Systems, a California-based manufacturer of animal tags, acoustic positioning systems, underwater autonomous cameras, special forces' cameras, and a host of other “underwater stuff.”
