Last Saturday, we hosted our second annual open house, and it was a smashing success. Over 200 guests stopped by to see an array of seminars, meet John Grimsmo and John Saunders, and buy a few goodies in our credit-and-carry sale.

PathPilot™ has been out of beta for nearly four months, and we’re quite proud of our new control software. While we expected PathPilot to improve the lives of our customers, there were a few features that we weren’t expecting to have such an impact. Here’s our top six list of our favorite (somewhat) unexpected advantages with PathPilot, in no particular order:

One of the greatest things about a Tormach PCNC mill is the first letter in that acronym, P. That P stands for personal, which is what the design of our machines is all about.

- Hot-Rodded Tormachs - Many of our customers are hotrod enthusiasts and vehicle customizers, but we have even more customers that are hot-rodding their Tormach machines. Tormach users are often owners of start-ups, engineering organizations, or even prototyping companies, which often leads to creating unique components and parts on their machines.

As many of you are aware, we announced our new PathPilot™ software last month and are expecting the official release in April. The Tormach engineering group has taken painstaking measures to develop this entirely new control architecture that is designed specifically for our products.

I met with my friend Bob Warfield (who writes the fantastic machining blog CNC Cookbook and is the author of the popular G-Wizard software tool suite for machinists) for lunch a couple of weeks back on a recent trip to California.
