    Tormach Tours IMTS

    IMTS manufacturing

    IMTS McCormick Place

With over 2,400 exhibitors and more than 110,000 attendees, IMTS is one of the biggest manufacturing trade shows around. So big that is only held in the U.S. every other year. Tormach didn't exhibit at IMTS, but we did have a chance to cruise the show floor.

    Machining Columns IMTS

IMTS houses everything industrial and manufacturing, from machine columns that are two-stories high to a fully 3D-printed car.

    Car IMTS

Speaking of cars, Local Motors was there with their build-your-own car. And, there was an autonomous bus cruising around as well.

Of course, because it is an industry event, there are a fair amount of interesting, entertaining, and otherwise ominous warning labels.

There were even some old-school machines floating around the show, like this antique South Bend lathe.

One of the most exciting things was watching the ballet of industrial robots, as they demo their capabilities… like lifting a Corvette 40 feet into the air.
